A very strong August and early September fishing for salmon, halibut, lingcod, and black cod in Sitka, Alaska. King salmon remained strong until about the last week of August, with historic limits. Silver (Coho) salmon started to grow 1-2 pounds per week. Halibut stayed hungry throughout August. The black cod were plentiful if the wind cooperated and the group wanted to leave the salmon grounds.
